Model-making

  • SANMaterial vergleichen

SAN (styrene acrylonitrile) is a transparent and stiff plastic. It has a higher stability and thermal scratch resistance than polystyrene and is chemically more stable. It is however UV-resistant only to a limited extent. But there are also UV improved qualities available.

    Most important properties

    • Temperature resistance (–20 to +80°C)
    • Good optical properties
    • Shiny surface
    • High dimensional stability and stiffness
    • High chemical resistance
    • Suitable for contact with food
    • Low water absorption
  • PMMAMaterial vergleichen

PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), also known as acryl glass, PLEXIGLAS® or PERSPEX®, is available in cast or extruded quality. Uncoloured it has a translucency of 92 percent.

    Most important properties

    • Temperature resistance (–20 to approx. +80°C)
    • Weather resistance
    • Super-transparent
    • High surface quality
    • Low weight
  • ABSMaterial vergleichen

ABS has a high scratch resistance and very good mechanical properties. This plastic has a high surface- and volume resistance combined with only very low static charge. The physiological harmlessness and the low stress cracking are further advantages.

    Most important properties

    • Excellent stiffness
    • High hardness
    • Temperature resistance (down to –45°C)
    • Low static charge
    • High scratch resistance
    • Physiologically harmless
  • PPMaterial vergleichen

PP is a homopolymeric thermoplastic. Because of its excellent profile of properties – especially the high chemical resistance and corrosion resistance – it is one of the most widely used materials in the chemical apparatus and container construction and has an excellent cost-benefit potential.

    Most important properties

    • High chemical resistance
    • No moisture expansion
    • Good weldable
  • PET-AMaterial vergleichen

Whether for folding displays, price tags or containers – it’s like if this material was specially made for the production of goods and advertising presentation. PET-A can be processed very easily and cost-efficiently and has good optical properties.

    Most important properties

    • High impact resistance
    • Super-transparent
    • Mechanically processable
    • Thermally mouldable
    • Physiologically harmless
    • Printable
    • Eco-friendly
  • FOREX ®Material vergleichen

FOREX® is a rigid foam board made of PVC and also known as SIMOPOR, POLYPOR or SIMOCELL. These boards offer various application possibilities for outdoor advertising or in the building and construction industry, for instance in the form of signs, advertising boards or partition walls.

    Most important properties

    • Temperature resistance (0 to +60°C)
    • Very lightweight
    • Bondable
    • Printable
    • Good insulation and sound insulation values
    • Chemical- and corrosion-resistant
